A monumental ensemble
The mansion Vollenhof was built in the first half of the nineteenth century, in neoclassical style. The stately white house with the blinds is remarkably shallow. As a result it is not as large as one might imagine at first sight.

In the outlay of the Vollenhof estate one can recognise the formal style of the eighteenth century country house estate design.
The rectangular floorplan of the house is repeated in the rectangular moated garden, which in its turn corresponds to the elongated shape of the surrounding estate.
